Here’s more concept art for the upcoming project. The past couple of weeks I’ve been focusing on the Demon character that is the antagonist in the film. The third painting is a refinement of the first. A problem with the first couple paintings is the size and shape of the head. In this last one I focused on refining his face so that it more resembled a human skull. Below are some very early sketches that show where these painting evolved from. The top pencil drawing was done about a year ago, shortly after arriving in Beijing. Now comparing it to the finished paintings, I notice some organic qualities have lost in translation. At some point I’ll attempt another while focusing of this early sketch. Hope you enjoy!

It’s been too long since the last update, and have been too busy running around and working late nights.  Just last week I finished a project that I had been working on for a couple of weeks. I was working for Bishop, who was hired by Heavy.com, who was contracted by the US Army to create a short animated film about strength. So by three degrees of separation I was working for the Grand US of A. Glad to serve my country!

The production schedule was ridiculous. There were somewhere around 25 shots in total, and all of which were started and completed in two and a half weeks. And that’s with just the two of us working on it. I came close to loosing my mind, and I’m pretty sure Bishop did.

Now I’ve moved on to a personal project that I’ve posted some about in the past. The project is still in its infancy and is now entering the first stage of visual development. I’ll try my best to keep you all informed, but so much is still up in the air. For now, here are a few recent photographs.
