Insomnia

A quick piece tonight while wishing I was asleep. This image somewhat captures the feeling of drifting off to sleep. Atleast it does to me. Source images are from a few long exposure photos I took a few months back.

This track was put together in my spare time and over the course of a month. Most parts were recorded in a single session, but several nights were spent processing, tweaking, and mixing. It reflects my current obsession with deep, dark and texturally complex soundscapes. Artists like Cisfinitum, Tim Hecker, and Idle Sunder have greatly influenced how I approach my recent music. Check them out if you enjoy this track.
Is anyone there? I can’t blame you if I’ve fallen off your radar. Cause it is pathetic that almost four months have past since my last post. I always try to make an effort to be more regular, but writing never comes easily to me.
A lot has happened in the past months. We’ve made considerable progress on the short film, the first draft of the animatic is almost done and a considerable amount of concept art has been completed. Although, at the moment the project is sitting on the sideline while we make some money.
We have two clients right now, Hampshire College and Sundial Pictures. For Hampshire we are creating a short animation for the Admissions Department. And for Sundial we’re creating the company branding intro that will show before each of their films. Both projects are a nice change of rhythm and its reguvinating to take a step back from the personal project that has been taking over my life.
Here’s a painting I did a few months ago of the urban environment that much of this film takes place in. More to come, hopefully.
